What is a chiropractic adjustment?

During chiropractic care, The chiropractor gently adjusts the spine and joints which brings minor misalignments of the spinal vertebrae, back into back and relieves nerve interference. This can improve the body’s ability to heal.

Are chiropractic treatments painful?

Dr. Mixon’s  many years of experience have allowed him to refine techniques that are gentle and easy upon the body. He also uses the “activator” method for clients who are hesitant to receive a manual adjustment. Most patients look forward to their sessions and often feel immediate relief.

Are chiropractors considered doctors?

Chiropractors undergo many years of advanced study and medical training to earn their doctorate in chiropractic. Chiropractors must pass national board exams and be state licensed to be considered a Doctor of Chiropractic.. In addition, each year Dr. Mixon participates in continuing education courses to stay abreast of ongoing research and advancements in techniques. Medicare classifies Chiropractors as a physician and recognize their   broad diagnostic skills.

Why is the back care so important to overall health?

A  properly aligned spine is essential to a healthy body. The nervous system is comprised of the brain, the spinal cord and spinal nerves. This sophisticated, interconnected system links the brain to the whole body. If the spinal column is compressed or the nerves injured, the information flow to the brain is challenged. At the onset of problems, one might experience mild neck or back pain. but if  left untreated, larger symptoms of disease or degeneration may develop.

Has chiropractic care been proven effective?
